Up to 24 guests will embark on a five-night adventure at the iconic Home Ranch set against the breathtaking backdrop of  Colorado’s majestic landscapes. The Home Ranch is steeped in history and charm, a veritable testament to the pioneering spirit. Established in the late 1800s, this remarkable retreat was  transformed into a Relais & Chateaux property and over time evolved into one of the most celebrated resort ranches in the land. In 2019, it transitioned from public life into a family working ranch that also opens its doors just for special events. At the entrance, feast your eyes on the awe-inspiring views of the Mt. Zirkel  Wilderness and the formidable snow-covered Continental Divide. The 2,500-acre paradise is bordered by the pristine Elk River, which flows forth from the mountains toward its confluence with the  Yampa River in Steamboat Springs. Awaken at the break of dawn and seize the day with a multitude of ranch activities, such as horseback riding in the arena, over the horse versatility course, or on boundless trails that wind through the property and the adjoining Routt National Forest. Try your hand at fly fishing along the private 2.5 miles of the Elk River, engage in paddle tennis, or test your aim with sporting clays. For those who crave exploration,pedal through the mountains or hike the inspiring Zirkel Trail.  Golf enthusiasts will find joy in the state-of-the-art golf simulator.  In addition, the top-notch facilities promise a transformative  experience. Begin your journey at the splendid fitness center where you can break a sweat, then immerse yourself in the  invigorating swimming pool and hot tub, detoxify in the  sauna and steam bath, or refresh yourself in the cold plunge.  

At nightfall, the Lodge transforms into a warm and inviting gathering place. Raise a glass in the Great Hall with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, recount the day’s grand adventures around the crackling fire, or take a leisurely stroll around the tranquil lake. Every chef-produced meal celebrates the region’s agricultural bounty, from ranch-raised American Wagyu to fresh produce from the high-country farm’s gardens and alpine greenhouses. After the feast, gather at the Hawk’s Nest for a fine cigar or head to the Great Room for spirited games of pool and cards, or perhaps a lively sing-along around the player piano. As the evening draws to a close, retreat to your rustically elegant cabin (one of eight, each a masterpiece designed by a renowned mountain designer from Jackson Hole). For those that like winter activities we can arrange the property to be available during the winter for cross country skiing on our 30 miles of groomed trails (the Home Ranch was voted one the best places to x-country ski in the world), snowshoeing, and, of course, skiing at the world-class Steamboat Springs mountain.

There will be a manager on property, wranglers and fishing guides…staff in the Lodge

Transportation from the Steamboat/Hayden Airport is included;  our ranch transporter is available to take people into town or off property adventures (you might want your own transportation)
